sermonette: A Sweet Savor
Our Sacrifice For God
Carl Childs
Given 14-Oct-03; Tape #FT03-06s; 18 minutes
Description: (hide)
Carl Childs examines the sacrifice from the viewpoint of God Almighty, whose spirit of ire was soothed from the sweet savor of Noah's sacrifice, as well as the burnt offering, sin offering, offering made by fire, and the drink offering. The sermonette also examines the requirements and specification for incense and perfume and Mary's sacrifice of Spikenard fragrance shortly before Christ's death, the only preparation for his death. The sacrifice of Jesus Christ (redeeming the lives of His called out ones) was a soothing aroma to God the Father. Our living sacrifice (incrementally developing righteous character through God's Holy Spirit) may be an offense to the world, but is a sweet savor to God.
