Disbelief in the Bible
Mark S. Baker
Given 17-Jul-04; Tape #676s; 16 minutes
Description: (hide)
Mark Baker, commenting on the alarming trend in the United States and Europe of disbelief or skepticism in the Bible's inspiration (over the past 40 years the ratio of belief in the Bible's inspiration has dropped from 2 /3 to 1/3 of the population with a continuing erosion on the horizon), suggests that 'Christianity'is becoming increasingly disconnected from this document. Contributary factors in this tragic disconnect include : self-centered nature, secular culture, and prosperity.Without the anchorage of the Bible, our culture has become innundated with a hodge-podge of hybrid religions accompanied by a sharp drop-off in life-saving faith and an alarming increase in moral relativism and contempt for standards. In this time of religious confusion and moral relativism, we must avail ourselves with the proper spiritual armor, especially the piercing, two-edged sword (Heb. 4:12) .
