American Standard Version
But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, And they shall have no way to flee; And their hope shall be the giving up of the ghost.

Amplified® Bible
But the eyes of the wicked shall look [for relief] in vain, and they shall not escape [the justice of God]; and their hope shall be to give up the ghost.

Darby English Version
But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and [all] refuge shall vanish from them, and their hope [shall be] the breathing out of life.

King James Version
But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and they shall not escape, and their hope shall be as the giving up of the ghost.

Revised Standard Version
But the eyes of the wicked will fail; all way of escape will be lost to them, and their hope is to breathe

Young's Literal Translation
And the eyes of the wicked are consumed, And refuge hath perished from them, And their hope `is' a breathing out of soul!
