He that despiseth his neighbor sinneth; But he that hath pity on the poor, happy is he.

Amplified® Bible
He who despises his neighbor sins [against God, his fellowman, and himself], but happy (blessed and fortunate) is he who is kind {and} merciful to the poor.

Darby English Version
He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth; but he that is gracious to the afflicted, happy is he.

King James Version
He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth: but he that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he.

Revised Standard Version
He who despises his neighbor is a sinner, but happy is he who is kind to the poor.

Young's Literal Translation
Whoso is despising his neighbour sinneth, Whoso is favouring the humble, O his happiness.
