Now when Jesus saw great multitudes about him, he gave commandments to depart unto the other side.

Now Jesus, when He saw the great throngs around Him, gave orders to cross to the other side [of the lake].

And Jesus, seeing great crowds around him, commanded to depart to the other side.

When Jesus saw the large crowds around him, he gave orders to cross to the other side.
