And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I `go', sir: and went not.

Then the man came to the second and said the same [thing]. And he replied, I will [go], sir; but he did not go.

And coming to the second he said likewise; and he answering said, *I* [go], sir, and went not.

International Standard Version
Then the father went to the other son and told him the same thing. He replied, 'I will, sir,' but he didn't go.

King James Version
And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.

Young's Literal Translation
`And having come to the second, he said in the same manner, and he answering said, I `go', sir, and went not;
