And it was now about the sixth hour, and a darkness came over the whole land until the ninth hour,

Amplified® Bible
It was now about the sixth hour (midday), and darkness enveloped the whole land {and} earth until the ninth hour (about three o'clock in the afternoon),

Darby English Version
And it was about [the] sixth hour, and there came darkness over the whole land until [the] ninth hour.

International Standard Version
It was already about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon

King James Version
And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.

Young's Literal Translation
And it was, as it were, the sixth hour, and darkness came over all the land till the ninth hour,
