John 4:48
Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe. The nobleman,
in his sore distress, had some faith, caused only by the fame of the
"signs and wonders" wrought. His faith was still imperfect, far below
the holy trust of the Samaritans. He is the type of a class whose
belief depended on outward signs.
