Commentaries:
The apostle John called the celebration the "Jews' feast" because he wrote primarily for the Gentiles. Before conversion, the Gentiles saw the feasts only as a part of the "different" religion of the Jews. The nation Israel had lost the knowledge of God's holy days, but Judah had preserved the Old Testament Scriptures and the festivals of God and God's calendar.
