American Standard Version
but I buffet my body, and bring it into bondage: lest by any means, after that I have preached to others, I myself should be rejected.

Amplified® Bible
But [like a boxer] I buffet my body [handle it roughly, discipline it by hardships] and subdue it, for fear that after proclaiming to others the Gospel {and} things pertaining to it, I myself should become unfit [not stand the test, be unapproved and rejected as a counterfeit].

Darby English Version
But I buffet my body, and lead it captive, lest [after] having preached to others I should be myself rejected.

International Standard Version
No, I keep on beating my body and making it my slave so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not somehow be disqualified.

King James Version
But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

Young's Literal Translation
but I chastise my body, and bring `it' into servitude, lest by any means, having preached to others -- I myself may become disapproved.
