Commentaries:
A seed is put in the groundbarley seed, wheat seed, grass seed, etc. In due time it rises again, but with a very different body! What is the principle? There is dissolution of the seed yet continuity.
The same is true with us. We go into the ground at our death, and the body dissolves. But when it rises in the resurrection, there is the continuity of the lifethe seedthat went into the ground. The old body dissolves, but the essential person riseswith a new body! Dissolved by death; changed by resurrection.
This is why character before death is so important. What comes up out of the ground, in our glorified state, will be recognized as what went into the ground.

When a person sows a seed, a seed does not pop right back out of the ground. What comes out of the grounda living plantis different from what is put into it. This becomes the illustration to describe the resurrection from the dead: What goes into the coffinor into the groundis not what comes out.
