Wherefore also we make it our aim, whether at home or absent, to be well-pleasing unto him.

Amplified® Bible
Therefore, whether we are at home [on earth away from Him] or away from home [and with Him], we are constantly ambitious {and} strive earnestly to be pleasing to Him.

Darby English Version
Wherefore also we are zealous, whether present or absent, to be agreeable to him.

International Standard Version
So whether we are at home or away from home, our goal is to be pleasing to him.

King James Version
Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.

Young's Literal Translation
