2 Corinthians 5:21
Hath made him [to be] sin for us, who knew no sin. As a sinless
substitute he suffered for our sins,
that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. That our
sins might thus be atoned for, the law satisfied, and we be forgiven
and accounted righteous. Since we die with Christ, in him we pay the
penalty, and are justified.
