But ye know the proof of him, that, as a child `serveth' a father, `so' he served with me in furtherance of the gospel.

But Timothy's tested worth you know, how as a son with his father he has toiled with me zealously in [serving and helping to advance] the good news (the Gospel).

But ye know the proof of him, that, as a child a father, he has served with me in the work of the glad tidings.

But you know his proven worth-how like a son with his father he served with me in the gospel.
