But shun profane babblings: for they will proceed further in ungodliness,

But avoid all empty (vain, useless, idle) talk, for it will lead people into more {and} more ungodliness.

But profane, vain babblings shun, for they will advance to greater impiety,

International Standard Version
However, avoid pointless discussions. For people will become more and more ungodly,

But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
