Whose `adorning' let it not be the outward adorning of braiding the hair, and of wearing jewels of gold, or of putting on apparel;

Let not yours be the [merely] external adorning with [elaborate] interweaving {and} knotting of the hair, the wearing of jewelry, or changes of clothes;

whose adorning let it not be that outward one of tressing of hair, and wearing gold, or putting on apparel;

Your beauty should not be an external one, consisting of braided hair or the wearing of gold ornaments and dresses.
