Subject: Seeking God
Summary: John Ritenbaugh explores the reciprocity aspect of the relationship between God and His called out ones. God in His sovereignty personally handpicks individuals with whom He desires to form a relationship. This relationship, like the physical creation, must be dressed, kept, tended, and maintained (Genesis 2:15). As in a human love relationship, ardently seeking God and desiring to conform to His image and mature into His character will cause the relationship to grow incrementally and intensify. Drawing near to God (in reciprocity to His love) is the key to the transference of God's mind to ours.

Keywords: Commitment, Communion, Complacency, Desire, Drawing near, Dress and keep, Duty, Ephesus, Feeling, First love, Foreknowledge, Holy Spirit, Knowing, Laodicea, Living abundantly, Love relationship, Sanctification, Seeking, Other-worldly, Passion, Person, Predestinate, Reciprocity, Relationship
